Catching bird flu from eggs and poultry, as I say, is incredibly unlikely, and anybody who is currently handling raw eggs or poultry should be taking good food safety precautions to begin with.  They should be making sure that the food is properly cooked; that when they prepare it they wash their hands after handling raw poultry; wash the utensils; wash the cleaning surfaces; and make sure that when they’ve handled raw poultry or raw eggs, they don’t touch other parts of their face, eyes, nose until they’ve washed their hands.
