H1N1 Vaccination Awareness – Jamil (60 seconds)

[Mother] My 12-year old Jamil, he suffers from asthma.  If he ever got the H1N1 flu it could seriously threaten his life.

[Music underneath voice over]

[Announcer] African Americans with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, heart or kidney disease are at greater risk for contracting life-threatening complications from H1N1.  The safest protection recommended by the CDC is vaccination.  H1N1 can cause serious health issues including pneumonia, dehydration, or even death.

[Mother] Not getting vaccinated puts you and your family in harm’s way.  Why would anyone do that?

[Music underneath voice over]

[Announcer] Be vigilant. Get yourself and the ones you love vaccinated.  Know the facts.  The seasonal flu vaccine protects against common flu viruses but only an H1N1 flu shot can protect you from H1N1.

Visit flu.gov and find a flu shot near you.  It’s the safest step, it’s effective and it’s readily available.

[Mother] Spread the word.  Not the flu.  Be the one to protect your family against H1N1.

[Announcer] Brought to you by the Ad Council and the Department of Health & Human Services.
